🎯 Promos

For your promo positions (more about them here) - keep things simple.

• Use high-res images and enticing copy to sell the dream, don’t over-explain. The landing page (where the user clicks to learn more) can hold all the detail.
• Don’t over-do it with too many promos:
  • Limit your homepage carousel to a maximum of 5 (trust us, nobody is scrolling to the end).
  • Limit your promos above the footer to a maximum of 6.

<aside> 💡 Use clean, text-less images for promos - Putting text on your promo images (or using poster art) is doubling up with the copy that sits next to it.

What should you use promos spaces for?

• Homepage Carousel

  Use this space for your priorities, look to add to it once or twice a week. Eg:

  • Big new releases (The Flash opens this Friday, get your tickets).
  • Special events (Catch our cult screening of The Big Lebowski).
  • News or announcements (Advanced tickets now on sale for Barbie; Architecture Film Festival coming in May).

• Footer Promos

  Use this space for more permanent offers (though you could throw in some new releases or big upcoming releases). Eg:

  • Hire the cinema (linking to your hire page)
  • Mums’n Bubs (linking to your info page)
  • Your F&B offering (linking to your menu)

📄 Custom pages

• Have fewer pages with more substantial content. For example, rather than a short ‘About Us’ page and short ‘Contact Us’ page, have a combined ‘About & Contact’ page. This is better UX, better SEO, and easier to maintain.

• We recommend a single-column layout. It keeps things simple and clear (noticing a pattern with our advice?), and ensures reliable rendering on mobile devices.
